In this forum, our goal is to share our creative vision with each other from inception to the final prints.
Ultra large format photography is a tough path for most people because of the size, discipline, and commitment that it takes to create original artwork.
Why do we love the format? Why do we choose these huge cameras to tell our stories? How do we select our methods, medium, and workflows to help tell our creative vision?
I love the fact that everything about it is slow, difficult, and challenging. I think this is part of what keeps me so engaged and alive.
If it were easy, I don't think I would be as interested.
Just about everything we do as ULF photographers must be thought about and planned, but there are plenty of surprises in the darkroom when I get to tweak the chemicals and methods to meet my vision.
I may start off with one approach and by the end, I have modified it many times until I reach my final destination.
