Michael Smith produced many ULF books with his 8x20. All of them are wonderful books that are reproduced beautifully and show his work and vision well. However, his first book: Landscapes 1975-79 volume 2 (volume 1 his his 8x10 work) is his best book IMO. I love to go back to it for inspiration and to view those beautiful images with full size reproductions of those gorgeous 8x20 negatives. This should be required reading for any ULF photographer especially if you are shooting with a panoramic camera.

From what I can tell from on-line images of this volume, it looks magnificent. I usually do not shoot panoramic. I do not look for these images, I just get them sometimes when I cut down an image.
This work seems to be a real masterwork of ULF. Perhaps one day I will see / acquire one.

It really is a masterpiece. Not only from the images themselves but the reproduction of the images to the publication of the book. 8x20 images are challenging from a book perspective. This book gives 1:1 ratio. It's like looking at the contact print. I highly recommend Paula Chamlee's workshops. Not only will you get a chance to see the book but his prints as well.

I have really been enjoying my new 8x20. We have been making platinum as well as silver chloride prints. We are in the process of making some new videos of the new 8x20 prints.
